" Students were given the opportunity to
see one another in a different light, to develop sensitivity to themselves as dancers and to one another as people.
They developed new sensitivity to language, not only to the power of words but also to the power of movement to express emotion
and feelings. The power of movement often led students towards finding the power of words. They needed the movement
experience first, then the talk/reflection, and finally the reading of the poem around which the dance lesson was focused." Kelly Bierweiller, Teacher,
Glen Head School I think this intergenerational storytelling project
was the highlight of the year for my fifth grade special education students. Many of them did things that I would have
never expected them to be able to do. That kind of experience will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Aaron's mother
sent the nicest note of appreciation for allowing him to participate in his own way and shine the way he did. Nick Stavrinos, Special Education, Daly Elementary School

"It was fascinating to explore character
using an opera scenario. Trying to express emotion through body language and tone of voice really helped me connect with what
the actors were expressing in the Chinese opera THE LAST EMPEROR. I never knew Social Studies could be so much fun!" Arielle S. 10th grade AP Global History Harborfields High
School
Thanks for a truly superb, insightful job. You truly
managed to draw out the very best from all of the participants. Both students and their teachers. Susan Ruth Cohen, Director
of Arts Education, Long Island Friends of the Arts Thank you for such a wonderful program and for the truly
fantastic experience given to our students. It was an enriching experience not only for the children, but for Daly School
in general. You got students to stand up and act whom I never would have expected to do it. Elaine Ajello, Principal Daly
Elementary School

"Kinesthetic
Intellligence Plus, Inc. realized the goals set by the district which included combining NYS learning standards in language
arts and dance in engaging and unusual ways. In addition creative movement and dance improvisation were used to offer students
opportunities to develop personal and cooperative decision making skills. We were so pleased with the results and are already
planning a new residency." Terryl Donovan, District Director of Fine and Performing Arts, North Shore School District
"I would recommend Kinesthetic Intelligence Plus
to any parent or educator in a heartbeat! Through their expertly guided, first-hand experiences of dance, drama and
storytelling, the bodies and minds of children come to life! As a Child Psychologist and parent of two children, I can
tell you that the benefits of this approach extend far beyond that of even the best Arts Education I've seen throughout the
years. Children bring home the deeper meaning of the arts and gain a greater understanding of themselves and others
that can last a lifetime. Through Kinesthetic Intelligence Plus, they receive a boost in not only creative, kinesthetic
(body) intelligences, but also character development. Maybe this is the "plus"?" Dr. Cheryl Chitayat Psy.D.
It was great watching my students
follow multi-step directions! My boys were engaged and motivated by the dance as well as the girls. They all had an awesome
time, enjoying all together. Ms. Lourenco

"It was
so exciting for the children to make the connection between written and spoken language, the language of music, the language
of visual arts, and the language of dance. For students who are not able to verbalize well, it was a powerful experience to
be confident and able to be articulate physically using their kinesthetic intelligence. As a teacher it allowed me to view
certain students from a new important perspective." Ms. Ramirez, Teacher, Glenwood Landing School
"Having the author perform as a storyteller
in each and every classroom rather than on the stage provides an intimacy with the performing artist that is great for the
children. I am sure that many more are willing to get up and be involved in the role play because it is so intimate."
Anthony Cicarelli, Principal, Birchwood School
"The story is phenomenal! The kids loved it and got
so much out of it. The teachers were especially amazed at how engaged the boys were and that they were willing and even competing
with one another to get up and do role plays." Stephen Toto, former 4th grade teacher, Vice Principal,
Birchwood School You did it yet again! Our special education kids were so proud of themselves. Their performance brought Mr. Hernandez
to tears as they portrayed his life. You do wonderful things and in all sincerity change lives. Never in my wildest drams
did I think some of my guys could pull off standing on stage and without a hint of nervousness deliver their lines. We're
very lucky to have you and this program in our school. Nick Stavrinos, Fifth Grade Team Leader, Daly Elementary School I really think that the children did a fantastic jobwith
the Stories One Generation tells Another this year. With all the emphasis placed on testing, and the pressure that we
put on ourselves and athe students to score well, it is refreshing to explore another way our children can show their "stuff".
What a great project! I cenrtainly look forward to next year! Liz LeSeur, Daly Elementary
"An inclusion student with academic and physical concerns who usually sits quietly and uninvolved
was able and willing to join in the storytelling. He clearly felt connected and raised his hand excitedly. He was willing
to sing songs and volunteered to act, putting himself in front of the entire class which was a huge step for him. He carried
on conversations about the program at other times which was also surprising to us."
Ms. Shapiro & Ms.
Issacson, Fourth grade team teachers
"One
very quiet ESL student became so passionate about learning to sing Underground Railroad songs and the history connected with
it. He researched information on his own and came to my music class sharing information. I was able to connect with him on
a meaningful level because he cared so much about the music and the subject."
